JOB PURPOSE
 
Apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process to implement the mechanical maintenance training programs for Company maintenance technicians.
 
KEY ACTIVITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
Maintenance Training Programs
  • Lead analysis activities to determine the required knowledge and skills and formulate recommendations for Mechanical Maintenance training and non-training solutions;
  • Develop objectives and examination tools to support the design of Mechanical Maintenance material;
  • Develop and maintain Mechanical Maintenance training material that supports initial and continuing training;
  • Ensure that all Mechanical Maintenance training programs meet the regulatory requirements and the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT);
  • Partner with the line organisation to ensure Mechanical Maintenance training programs used to train and qualify workers are based on the systematic approach to training, utilise useful resources, and meet station needs;
  • Ensure the collection and maintenance of associated training and qualification records related to Mechanical Maintenance training programs;
  • Conduct maintenance training on Mechanical Maintenance topics, such as but not limited to maintenance – Instrumentation calibration, breaker maintenance and pump maintenance to support trainee attainment and retention of job-related skills.
 
Mechanical Maintenance Training Program Quality Improvement
  • Provide ongoing oversight of external training on Mechanical Maintenance to identify training improvement opportunities;
  • Analyse Trainee Feedback and Management Observation comments to improve training implementation;
  • Perform post Training Evaluations to determine if trainees are using the gained knowledge and skills in their job position and how effectively they are being used;
  • Lead and participate in self-assessments to identify training program improvement opportunities.
 
Training Expertise and Support
  • Develop and maintain discipline specific maintenance training schedules to support training implementation;
  • Provide input on required training facilities, mockups, materials and qualifications to ensure adequate training program implementation;
  • Support subject matter experts in training material development and implementation to ensure training program effectiveness;
  • Participate in Training Program Oversight Committee meetings to provide input regarding trainee performance during training topic selection.
 
Health and Safety and Security
  • Follow all relevant company’s Health and Safety policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure Health and Safety compliance in all aspects of work per sound management practices by applying these Health and Safety policies and procedures to self and others to take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of people, or the environment, who are at the employee's place of work who may be affected by the employees acts or omissions at work;
  • Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them to self, others and Corporate assets;
  • Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission-critical activities.
 
People Management
  • Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy;
  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination/ sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximise their effective performance.

Communication and Working Relationships
  • Internal: Training management, Maintenance Department Line Managers;
  • External: Vendors, Training Institutes, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), Korea Plant Service & Engineering (KPS).
 
REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualification and Experience
  • Minimum: Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Technical Secondary Diploma and 2 years related experience, of which 3 months is nuclear power plant experience. Special requirements: Have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience. Certified as a qualified instructor for the material being presented. Instructors of FANR Certified Senior Reactor Operators or Certified Reactor Operators shall hold, or have held, a Senior Reactor Operator Certification (or equivalent from a relevant regulatory authority) or have been certified for the equivalent Senior Reactor Operator knowledge.
  • Preferred: Baccalaureate Degrees in Science, Engineering or Equivalent with 7 years related experience to include 5 years Nuclear Maintenance Training experience and 2 years Lead or Senior Mechanical Maintenance Instructor.

Language Proficiency
  • English - Category A

Professional Certifications
  • Minimum: Classroom Instructor Certification
  • Preferred: INPO Instructor Certification
